I am now working as part of the Family Information Service team (FIS). My title is School Preference Adviser, and my role is to help parents and carers who may need extra support in order to understand the system and complete the preference forms correctly. The service is free, impartial and independent and provides support & information to enable families to make a Primary/Secondary school preference. We can offer:

  • A wide range of information on local Primary and Secondary schools
  • Friendly advice, information and support on all aspects of Primary and Secondary schools admissions process
  • Information about the admissions policies and criteria for different schools
  • Arranging school visits
  • Assistance in completing the preference application form
  • Information, advice and support on the admissions appeals procedure

If you feel or know that a family needs extra support, please give them my contact details or refer them to the Family Information service –their telephone number is 01273 293545.

The deadline for Infants and Primary school applications is on Friday 6th Feb 2009 at 3:00pm.

Many thanks

Talal
