An action-packed Emergency Services Fun Day is being held in Brighton & Hove on Sunday 25th July.

Between 11.00am and 3.00pm, East Brighton Park will become the centre of local emergency service activity for the FREE "999" event.

Sussex Police, the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, South East Coast Ambulance Service, Coastguards and the Lifeboat will all be taking part, with arena displays throughout the day. There will be the chance to see police dogs in action as well as exciting displays from the fire service.

Visitors can also join in some of the fun on offer and learn at first hand about, among others, the Roads Policing Unit and Scenes of Crime Officers. There will also be stalls and other exhibitions showing the work of the emergency services, showing off their equipment with staff on hand to answer any questions.

Brighton & Hove's Neighbourhood Policing Chief Inspector Laurence Taylor said: "This promises to be a great day out for all the family. There will be a variety of action-packed displays from the ever-popular police dogs to the Sussex Army Cadet Force and plenty of opportunity to talk to local members of the emergency services and learn more about their work.

"The hardworking men and women of the emergency services are there for everyone 24 hours a day 365 days a year, it would be wonderful if people could come along and support them on this special day."

The attached winning poster was designed by 11-year-old Amy Spencer. She has won some free bowling tickets courtesy of Brighton Marina's Bowlplex.
