The familiars were there  lovely Vera who is making cushions in the new sewing group and provided the home made cakes.

Artists Bonny Ing and Jille as well as resident artists Jane and Katie .

As rep for AOh Bristol Estate trail  Graham asked me to give a flavour of what the houses /Studios are about as they will be open every saturday and sunday throughout May until 24/5/09

I referred to the brochure page 19/20 where we have the very first Bristol estate Trail. Brochures are available in the hall and in the studios.

The art on show every weekend in these studios is stunning .Best Open Houses in Brighton and best location best view most exciting as a brand new trail. Theres refreshments also provided by the Artists and a chance to sit and  absorb the atmosphere and  really talk with the artists. Theres lots of affordable art and a huge selection.

As part of the brochure this year there is a section called House.
A competition was run called Selectors choice. Its a new competition and 80 artists submitted entries   including house  guests . It should run again next year for future entries reference!

Ingrid, Emma and Lizzy (ingrids guest) all entered new works and all have got work in that exhibition successfully. You can see their work at the Regency House in Brunswick Square Hove.Lizzy has had her  delicate beautiful work chosen for the cover of the brochure. Please see brochure for details.

Go along and support our artists and vote for them.Emma has her beautiful collaged butterflies on show and Ingrid a mini installation. Lizzie will be showing the work on the cover.

The evening was very exciting as theres so many talented and vibrant groups on the Estate  and it  sprouted lots of potential collaborations .

The fruit and veg market is held every Saturday in the hsall and the produce is first class! plus dried organics and a must also for visitors to AOH ,as its fantastic .

Theres a  Saturday Breakfast  9 to 12  am in the hall  so in a great indoor market atmosphere fantastic place to have a Saturday treat and start to the trail .

At the end of the lovely Launch  evening after wine and food music and good company a play tunnel arrived and play balls and  two smiley people with littlies to set up Mother and Toddler group for the following day.
The hall suddenly became full of toddlers and jingling mobiles .

This very active group are creating their own artworks for Brighton Festival and the community art exhibition in the hub.Bless! They may well be the youngest artists in Artists Open House this year or ever!
